Position Summary:
The Sr. Software Engineer (Algorithms) position, Intraoperative Neuromonitoring, is responsible for the design and development of the algorithms and software integration functions for new product initiations and sustaining.
Essential Functions:
- Algorithm Design and development: Research, design, implement, test and document innovative algorithms to meet specific technical and business objectives.
- Mathematical Skills: Solid foundation in discrete mathematics, statistics, signal processing as well as an understanding of the principles, techniques, and applications of machine learning. Manages lifecycle for different projects inclusive of research, development, design, evaluation, testing and delivery to product management.
- Develops and maintains software applications & systems development
- Creates and maintains product software architecture
- Works closely with cross functional engineers, developers and Product Management throughout organization to influence product development, assisting or improving products.
- Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and creates a corrective action plan that ensures timely resolution of issues.
- Follows software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software
- Accountable for algorithm development projects from beginning to finish.
- Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
- Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6 years and a Master’s degree, or a PhD with 3 years’ experience, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied mathematics, Signal processing, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience with statistics, signal processing, numerical optimization, algorithm development, machine learning
- Hands-on experience training, tuning, and validating machine learning models using clinical data sets.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python
- Proficient understanding of software product design and development with object-oriented languages
- Experience programming in Full stack development, .NET back end (C# preferred), JavaScript or TypeScript front end, HTML5, SCSS or CSS is a plus
- Git source control experience is a plus
- Experience programming in C/C++
- Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
- Medical device experience in a regulated industry is a plus. Familiar with IEC 62304
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and team player
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
