About Tensordyne:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our world. It can perform cognitive functions that previously only humans could do, such as perceiving interactions across different modalities and environments - with the ability to quickly learn and then solve complex problems. Tensordyne is an AI system solution company that builds very high-performance, low-power generative AI inference systems. Our mission, through the creation of custom silicon, hardware and software, is to enable multimodal Generative AI inference acceleration at scale, with safe, sustainable, high-performance systems for our hyperscaler and neocloud data center customers. We are at the leading edge of advancing the latest research and product improvements for generative Al inference solutions that will make Al even more advantageous for compelling new generative AI applications. Tensordyne is a well funded, fast-paced startup company with headquarters in both Sunnyvale, CA, and Munich, Germany. We also have many talented team members working remotely across North America and Europe. We take care of our people and their families with comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, flexible spending options, and recognition programs, because building category-defining technology starts with a healthy, supported team. Come join us as we shape the future of multimodal generative artificial intelligence!

About the role:

To keep developing world-class AI Inference compute systems (from silicon to software), we're looking for an experienced Technical Product Director who is passionate about Al inference compute in datacenters, across the entire stack (hardware and software). We need a self-starter to work directly with one of our founders to help focus AI compute product efforts that will define the future of inference at customers of Tensordyne. The successful candidate will have a years-long background in engineering enabling them to have a deep technical understanding of most if not all dimensions of the product, along with experience in product management, business development and spot great communication and networking skills. If that's you, then we'd love to talk to you!

Where you'd help us:

  • Leading the definition of Tensordyne's next generation of Al inference compute products, with an innovative yet pragmatic and well-communicated technology roadmap in alignment with and with influence on the company’s GTM strategy
  • Engaging with our external technology partners, customers, Al industry researchers and internal engineering & business stakeholders to coalesce insights and requirements into winning Al product plans and strategies.
  • Researching, defining and driving essential competitive analysis, key metrics tracking, cost modeling, customer demos, and product release schedules to ensure Tensordyne's superiority to alternative solutions.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the success of key customers' projects, anticipating their software and hardware needs, while reacting as necessary to pertinent feedback.
  • Working hand-in-hand with marketing to design marketing campaigns with the goal of promoting Tensordyne's Al technology, products and demonstrating thought leadership

Qualifications:

  • Deep in-field engineering experience across multiple dimensions of our product stack (AI models (text, audio, image, video), AI-centric applications, AI inference KPI optimization, silicon design, hardware design, compilers, inference servers, rack-mounted compute systems, datacenter networking, datacenter storage, multimedia processing, datacenter systems, cloud computing, datacenter maintenance/telemetry)
  • Strong product mindset/ technical product mgmt experience - with a passion for finding the perfect balance between customer-centric product design & engineering, and driving disruptive innovation within the boundaries of the customer.
  • Real-world, in-field experience of how datacenter AI compute solutions and their (newcomer) vendors are vetted, selected, procured, set up, managed, maintained, monitored and served
  • Exceptionally strong communication, presentation and interpersonal collaboration skills
  • A track record of producing and driving technology product roadmaps from early requirements gathering to cost modeling, to production and commercialization with global customers (fine if this was from an engineering role, as an IC strongly involved in vast areas of similar products).
  • An understanding of modern machine learning architectures and applications with a keen interest in optimizing their performance and an intrinsic passion and drive to gain an exhaustively holistic understanding of all parts involved end-to-end
  • Strong project management mindset - the successful candidate is a natural organizer, with customer empathy and able to multitask and prioritize within a demanding environment
  • 5+ years of experience
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field.

Tensordyne's culture was built on the following values

What We Do

Every leap in AI has followed the same pattern: first we made models bigger, then we tailored them, and now we let them think longer. Each step (scaling law) truly adds intelligence. But in the end we land on the same runway: inference, and demand is exploding while power supply lags. We asked: what if the next step isn’t stacking another law on top, but a zeroth law beneath them all. A law that changes AI math. Because after all, AI is math, trillions of multiplies, and multiplication burns watts. Tensordyne uses logarithmic compute to turn multiplies into adds, cutting power at the root. We’ve cast our proprietary logarithmic math into custom silicon, hardware, interconnect, and system software. The result: one integrated system for multimodal GenAI inference designed for Hyperscaler and Neo Cloud data centers. What this means for our customers: With Tensordyne they can run the world’s largest multimodal models for thousands of users, with fewer racks, less power, and lower cost. We’re well-funded and fast-moving, with co-headquarters in Sunnyvale, California and Munich, Germany, and a distributed team across North America and Europe. Join us to change how the world runs Gen AI.
