Senior Aerodynamicist - In-Flight Icing & CFD
Location: Montreal, Quebec or Toronto, Ontario, Canada; United States (multiple locations)
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada OR the United States and eligible to work on defense-related projects (CGD, ITAR).
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Engineering with specialization in CFD and/or In-Flight Icing
- 5-10+ years of experience in aerodynamic CFD and icing simulations
- Experience supporting aircraft design and/or certification programs
- Experience performing numerical icing simulations on complex aerodynamic configurations
- Experience planning, executing, and analyzing wind tunnel test campaigns
- Experience with high-lift aerodynamics and icing certification testing
- Strong knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Strong knowledge of numerical methods for PDEs, including:
- Spatial discretization
- Time integration
- Solver technologies
- Experience developing mesh generation, deformation, and adaptation strategies
- Experience analyzing aerodynamic performance under icing conditions
- Experience assessing impacts to:
- Ice protection systems
- Stability and control
- Aircraft performance
- Experience developing CFD workflows using High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Experience supporting in-flight icing certification activities
- Experience interacting with regulatory authorities
- Experience with mesh generation tools such as Pointwise
- Experience with CAD software including:
- NX
- CATIA
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Knowledge of HPC best practices
- Programming experience in:
- C/C++
- Python
- Fluent in English and French
- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments
- Experience with aircraft certification processes preferred
- Experience working with Flight Sciences, Loads & Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Systems, or Certification teams preferred
