We have an opportunity for an Innovation Engineer to join Honeywell UOP’s Engineering organization.
This position will be based in Rosemont, IL and provides a unique and visible opportunity to develop engineering improvements and modifications for UOP technologies via the Engineering Innovation work process. These technology modifications are brought to market in a collaborative effort between the Business, Development, and Engineering Leadership teams with key input from Technical Services – giving the Innovation Engineer an opportunity to interact and collaborate with teams across the organization. In this role, you will gain exposure across UOP’s suite of technologies and be responsible for executing Engineering Innovation and Management of Change (MoC) projects from ideation through derisking and implementation steps.
The Innovation Engineer will report to the Sr. Chemical Manager of Engineering Innovation and collaborate extensively with the Innovation Technical Leads. Key Responsibilities
- Investigation and execution of Engineering Innovation and Management of Change (MoC) projects.
- Screen and evaluate ideas as assigned and generate new ideas from projects or brainstorming
- Working closely with Innovation Tech Leads, Technology Specialists, Technical Services, R&D, and Offering Managers to ensure alignment on technical and business cases for ideas and projects
- Running project teams, including setting up and leading cadence meetings
- Hosting regular project progress meetings with the Business, Tech Leaders, and Specialists
- Utilizing commercial software to develop simulations and generating process deliverables such as material balances, utilities consumption, equipment sizing, and CAPEX estimates
- Performing techno-economic analyses of process modifications, including the assessment of key parameters impacting process profitability, safety, and reliability
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Technology, Engineering, Research & Development, or Technical Service role withing the refining, petrochemical, gas processing, or renewables industries is required.
- 5+ years of experience utilizing process simulation software
WE VALUE
- 8+ years of experience in Technology, Engineering, Research & Development, or Technical Service role withing the refining, petrochemical, gas processing, or renewables industries
- Experience in process engineering and knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals
- An understanding of the UOP Engineering work processes, tools, software, and best practices
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills to ensure solution definition & clear project requirements
The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $149,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
