Our team

We are a small, tight team where the founders are still in the trenches. Managing Directors Romain and Muby Astruc lead the firm together and personally handle client matters every day. Our Department heads — Anup, on the accounting, audit, tax, payroll and liquidation services side — do the same: they supervise, yes, but they also open the ledger, review the reconciliation, sit with the client, and get the work done.

The role

We are hiring a Senior Accounts & Tax Consultant to serve high-end clients — HNWI and large corporate groups — as their day-to-day accounting and tax point of contact. This is a hands-on senior role.

You will own a portfolio of demanding clients from end to end: bookkeeping, month-end and year-end closing, UAE VAT compliance, UAE Corporate Tax registration and filing, audit preparation and liaison with external auditors, and coordination with the firm's legal, corporate services and revenue teams on anything that touches the client's file. You will also be expected to think — about how to serve these clients better, faster, more accurately, at a higher standard, with fewer manual steps and more intelligent tooling.

What we are looking for (and what we are tired of)

We are tired of hiring juniors who do not know accounting and tax, who are afraid of new technology, and who believe a career is built by turning up.

We are equally tired of hiring seniors who believe the job of a senior is to supervise the work of others. That is not what we want.

We want a senior who genuinely enjoys the day-to-day work of accounting: reconciling accounts, categorising transactions, closing the books, filing the returns, sitting with a client's ledger until it balances. We want a senior who has a working command of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax and can hold a substantive technical conversation with a demanding CFO or a UHNWI's family office. We want a senior who treats AI as a colleague — who delegates data entry, categorisation, reconciliation drafts and routine documentation to it, who reviews the output critically, and who then spends their own time on what only a human accountant can do: judgement, exception management, client relationship, strategic and technical thinking. And, importantly, we want a senior who actively looks for opportunities to bring AI-enabled and automation-enabled solutions into the firm to make us all faster and better.

If you believe the firm's job is to invest in tools and yours is to complain about them, this role is not for you.

If you read the FTA guidance the day it drops, know the difference between a good and a bad Zoho Books setup, have strong opinions on Tally versus modern cloud accounting, and have already used AI on real work — this role is for you.

Where you will actually spend your time

• Running the books of assigned client portfolios: bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, adjusting entries, supporting schedules.
  
• Preparing and filing UAE VAT returns and UAE Corporate Tax returns — with your own hands, at senior quality.
  
• Reviewing and improving each client's accounting setup — chart of accounts, workflows, tooling, integrations.
  
• Managing the client relationship at working level: understanding the business, anticipating needs, being reachable, explaining things clearly.
  
• Coordinating with our external auditors on the annual audit.
  
• Coordinating with the firm's legal, corporate services and revenue teams on anything that touches your clients.
  
• Identifying, testing and rolling out AI-based and automation-based improvements — for your own portfolio and, where it works, across the Department.
  
• Producing monthly management reports for your clients and structured status updates for your manager (Anup).
  

Our tooling and technology environment

We use Zoho Books and Tally (with a live internal discussion on the balance between the two), Zoho CRM, and a growing stack of AI tools — Claude among them — integrated into our daily work. We expect you to be fluent with Excel, comfortable in a cloud accounting environment, and curious about anything new that helps the team.
