HOW YOU’LL FLY
You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:
- Managing and coaching accounting team members.
- Preparing and reviewing accounting documentation such as journal entries and account reconciliations for the monthly and quarterly close process.
- Managing certain steps or areas of the monthly and quarterly close process.
- Liaising with the Corporate Controller and the Assistant Controller in maintaining an effective control environment (SOX 404), support the procedures to test design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, identify and implement improvements to accounting and financial reporting processes and controls, and assist with documentation.
- Proactively identifying, designing, and implementing enhancements to existing operational procedures to drive process efficiencies, resource optimization, and improved quality
- Collaborating cross-functionally with other groups within the organization to ensure that information that is relevant for accounting and reporting is shared and processed in a timely manner.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with functional areas to understand and analyze the financial impact of business process changes.
- Preparing analytical results packages on a monthly and quarterly basis, gathering explanations and data from other accounting team members as necessary.
- Working with external CROs, CMOs and other clinical /manufacturing vendors to ensure that accruals are accurately accounted for.
- Supporting the requirements of the annual audit and quarterly reviews through preparation or review of audit schedules and other support requested by the internal and external auditors.
- Providing detailed analysis, supporting creative problem solving, and anticipating technical obstacles as they relate to financial aspects of the R&D processes for manufacturing and clinical supplies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:
- BS or BA in Accounting or related field.
- 8+ years of Accounting experience, including some Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 2+ years experience leading and developing junior accountants.
- Certified Public Accountant license (preferred).
- In-house accounting experience (required). Big 4 public accounting audit experience (preferred) .
- Experience with Oracle ERP (Oracle Fusion a plus).
- Proven track record of robust analytical skills, effective problem solving and attention to detail.
- Results-orientation with the proven ability to execute on collaborative projects and develop subject matter expertise).
- Strong project management skills, SOX internal controls and US GAAP knowledge.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel- advanced skills required.

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $111,000 - $155,000. Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as paid holidays, bluebird days, and a holiday shutdown in December.
