Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant with strong experience in the CPG/manufacturing industry to support core accounting functions. This role is responsible for managing fixed assets, supporting monthly close processes, reconciling sales tax, and overseeing financial reporting areas such as borrowing base calculations and prepaids. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reporting on food safety and/or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate corrective actions.
- Fixed Assets Management - Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Borrowing Base Reporting - Prepare and reconcile borrowing base certificates; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely submission and compliance.
- Sales Tax Reconciliation & Email Monitoring - Reconcile sales tax filings and accounts across multiple states; monitor and respond to tax-related emails and correspondence to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepaid Expenses - Track and amortize prepaid expenses accurately on a monthly basis; ensure proper alignment with financial reporting periods.
- MCB Accrual & Deduction Monitoring - Monitor, analyze, and report on Marketing and Customer-Based (MCB) accruals and deductions, ensuring proper accounting and validation of promotional activities.
- Project Support - Participate in and lead special projects and process improvements as assigned by management, supporting business initiatives and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the CPG or manufacturing sector
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and proficiency in Excel
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA
