Optum Finance & Accounting - OGA Controllership Team
The OGA Controllership Team is a diverse and highly skilled group of 16 finance professionals based across India, the Philippines, Ireland, and the UK. As part of Optum Finance & Accounting, our team plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting for the Optum Global Advantage segment, which spans across 6 Geographies (India, The Philippines, Ireland, Puerto Rico, USA & UK).
We specialize in preparing, reviewing, maintaining, and reconciling general ledger accounting entries for both management and statutory reporting. Our responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing month-end estimates for the Optum Global Advantage Segment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
- Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
- Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
- Support audit team in preparing documentation in for external and internal audits
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
- Consolidate and analysis quarterly balance sheets and monthly actual variance reporting
- Assist with or lead the month end and quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups
- Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
- Serve as a resource to other finance function during peak delivery periods
- Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
- Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
- Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
- Streamline processes by leaning into analytical tools and technology
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or accreditation with professional Accounting body
- Proven accounting experience in a multinational multicurrency company
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
- High proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
- Power Query
