In this role you can expect to
- Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Prepare working papers for month-ends, quarterly interim reviews, and annual audits
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of financial data and internal MD&A
- Prepare quarterly reporting packages and financial statements for reviews and audits
- Performing IFRS research and prepare technical accounting memos as needed
- Ensure that accounting procedures performed comply with IFRS requirements and Company policies
- Process complex journal entries for complex events/transactions
- Complete regular recording and reporting responsibilities timely and accurately
- Record intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany balances
- Support the AP team for bi-weekly pay runs by reviewing and approving AP bills for accuracy, and reviewing and approving expense reports to ensure that expenses are compliant with Company policies
- Support Assistant Controller with providing external consultants with ad hoc document requests for audits and tax filings
- Process and Systems:
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects, including ERP upgrades, process automation, and system implementations
- Continuously review and refine processes and systems based on performance data, user feedback, and evolving business needs
- Identify and execute on opportunities to streamline processes
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team as required
- Support the team with other ad-hoc task
- ICFR related Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Assistant Controller and Compliance Manager with maintaining and enhancing ICFR to ensure strong ITGC, ELC and business processes related to key areas of responsibility
- Ensure accurate and updated process documentation of key processes related to key areas of responsibility
- Ensure processes performed are in compliance with Company policies and processes
- Support SOX audit requests as required throughout the year
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA,CA or equivalent qualification (or successful completion of CFE)
- 3+ years of experience, preferably within the tech industry, gaming or SaaS company of medium to large size
- Experience in public practice is preferred
- Thorough understanding of IFRS or US GAAP
- Experience with SOX is an asset
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in researching and preparing technical accounting memos
- A strong history of being a self-starter, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
