PenderFund Capital Management Ltd (“Pender”) is an independent, employee-owned investment firm founded in 2003. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant who will work alongside and support the Finance and Accounting team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be a well-organized person able to learn quickly and collaborate to achieve the team objectives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform full cycle accounting for companies and funds managed by Pender
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures
- Work with external fund administrator, auditors and the CFO
- Prepare financial information for annual, semi-annual and quarterly reporting
- Prepare monthly information for fund fact sheets and marketing materials
- Tax preparation and support
- Other related duties as required or assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years accounting/finance or audit experience with exposure to fund accounting; direct fund accounting experience would be an asset
- Holding or working toward an accounting designation is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications
- General bookkeeping and financial statement preparation experience
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills and work ethic

We are sharing that the estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year. In determining final salary, Pender considers many factors including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, job responsibilities, market conditions, position location and internal equity. Our aim is to ensure fair compensation practices that align with industry standards while acknowledging the unique value and expertise each individual brings to the role. The final base salary for the offer will be presented as part of a competitive compensation package.
