The Senior Accountant will be part of the Xome Accounting team. Xome Accounting comprises of the company’s corporate responsibilities, such as payroll, taxes, bonuses and various other expenses.
This position is responsible for the reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, the processing of assigned journal entries and completion of assigned tasks to facilitate periodic closing of the general ledger. This person will also work directly with offshore accounting team and assist with their day-to-day tasks in answering questions and reviewing their work.
As the Senior Accountant, you will be principally focused on core accounting responsibilities and play an important support role for the entire Finance team, which includes Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Tax, Treasury and Financial Systems. The position will provide direct support to the Assistant Controller and Controller and indirect support to the Chief Financial Officer the rest of the Finance team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare / review monthly general ledger entries
- Manage various bank account activities
- Prepare / review assigned balance sheet account reconciliations
- Oversee offshore accounting team and assist with their tasks in answering questions, including reviewing their work
- Assist with monthly financial close process
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements throughout the Accounting department
- Assist in the development of process documentation
- Assist the Assistant Controller on a range of projects, primarily involving financial data collation and analysis
Core Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of directly related experience required - Strong month end financial close experience: full cycle, prepare journal entries, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
- BS/BA degree in Accounting from an accredited university is required
- Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel (Pivots, Vlookups, and complex formulas)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail; high level of accuracy and ability to review self-created work
- Comfortable performing ad-hoc research and analysis
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and problem-solving skills
- Public accounting experience is preferred
- A CPA or MBA is preferred
- Familiarity with standard accounting packages (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
