Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant role will be a key contributor and play a pivotal role in driving the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP, maintaining appropriate and robust internal controls, applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information. This is a highly visible and impactful role that offers significant opportunities for professional growth and development. This role will report directly to the VP, Corporate Controller.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support most aspects of accounting management (GL, AR, AP, sales, expenses, reporting etc.)
  • Prepare financial data and ledgers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with all members of the accounting team and cross functionally as needed
• Perform month-end close procedures including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations for more complex accounting areas
• Researches, analyzes, and uses independent judgment in a variety of daily and non-routine decisions affecting assigned function
• Review journal entries prepared by Staff Accountants. Record journal entries for more complex accounting areas.
• Help in the preparation and completion of financial audits
• Assist in developing reports for management and/or outside parties
• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Utilize accounting IT system (NetSuite) to streamline processes and maintain accurate records
• Support the Corporate Controller and work directly with the accounting team to ensure accuracy and consistency

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience as Senior Accountant or similar position/experience
• Solid knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial close, reconciliations, reporting, etc.)
• Understanding of data analysis
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software
• Organized with ability to prioritize appropriately
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• CPA is strongly preferred
• Three to Five Years of Experience – A combination of public accounting (Big 4 Accounting Firm) and industry experience is preferred 
• Experience with NetSuite and Coupa is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
