About the RoleCanon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Accountant (Sr Accountant) responsible for general ledger reconciliations and analysis, financial forecasting, reserve valuations, procedure development, account backup testing, and special projects. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Your Impact- Perform monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis - Conduct balance sheet trend analysis and prepare financial reports - Monitor assigned accounts for financial exposure and proactively escalate concerns to management - Research and resolve account variances and exceptions - Execute month-end close processes - Assist with the transmission and reporting of financials - Test general ledger backup to ensure system and data integrity - Support physical inventory and fixed asset audits - Provide documentation and support for internal audits and use tax audits - Assist team members and managers with special projects - Ensure all accounting processes and documentation comply with US GAAP and internal corporate policies - Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in developing and implementing new accounting procedures
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, plus 5 years of related experience - Working knowledge of GAAP including experience in and ability to research GAAP and other Authoritative Pronouncements - Strong Excel skills - CPA License is preferred - Audit Experience with a large Regional and/or International Public Accounting Firm is preferred - Requires strong initiative. Should be able to bring potential solution options to manager along with issues - Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time management and written skills - Professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated salary range for this role, $76,150 - $114,040.
