The Senior Accountant oversees daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial processes. Acting as a key link between senior management and the accounting team, this role delivers actionable strategic insights, strengthens internal controls, and upholds the integrity of all financial data.
Key Responsibilities
· Accounting Close & Financial Reporting: Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes with the Shared Services Center to deliver timely, accurate managerial reporting packages.
· Retail Financial Operations & Controls: Manage revenue recognition, sales aggregation, and reconciliations across retail channels (malls, department stores, O2O). Oversee store expenses, fixed assets, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and inventory stocktakes.
· Treasury & Working Capital: Monitor daily cash operations, optimize working capital efficiency, and build cash flow forecasts to maintain healthy liquidity.
· Tax, Audit & Risk Management: Lead statutory tax compliance (CIT, VAT/GST, WHT), Transfer Pricing, and CbCR requirements. Coordinate internal and external audits to enforce group internal controls.
· Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner across business units to automate routine accounting functions, optimize operational workflows, and deliver ad-hoc analysis for APAC Regional and Group Finance.
[Qualifications]
· Experience: 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in an MNC, ideally within Retail or F&B.
· Technical Expertise: Strong command of IFRS/local GAAP and internal controls (e.g., SOX). Hands-on experience with IFRS 16 and retail revenue recognition is preferred.
· Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of end-to-end accounting, treasury, and tax compliance (including Transfer Pricing and audit management).
· Systems: Proficient in major ERPs (SAP, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel (modeling and large-dataset reconciliations).
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Languages: Professional fluency in English and Korean for effective collaboration with local, regional (APAC), and global teams.
· Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive issue resolution, and excellent stakeholder management.
Skills Required
