About the RoleReporting to the VP, Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company’s financial records and reporting.
This position plays a key role in the monthly and annual close processes, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
Working closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Purchasing, and Management, the Senior Accountant will provide financial insight that supports sound business decisions, operational efficiency, and the achievement of the Company’s strategic and financial objectives.
RequirementsWe are searching for a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least three (3) years in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and financial data analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and manage time effectively
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is preferred
A typical day may include:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Perform inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, reserve analyses, and inventory valuation
- Analyze operating results and investigate financial variances, providing recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Support the annual budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Prepare and file assigned tax, sales and use tax, and regulatory reports, or support the preparation of such filings
- Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve financial processes and support business initiatives
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve the effectiveness of financial reporting systems and internal controls
- Assist with the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and other financial reporting tools
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management
- Salary Range: $95,000–$120,000
