The Role
Manage day-to-day cost accounting tasks including production review, costing and inventory exception analysis, cycle counts, BOM maintenance, monthly period close, journal entries, and accounting reporting. Support supervisor-assigned duties and continuous process adherence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing certain day-to-day Cost Accounting tasks, including but not limited to:
- Daily production review, analysis, entry, and reconciliation (including investigating variances)
- Daily review of costing and inventory exception reports.
- Manage weekly and quarterly cycle counting procedures with adherence to company policies.
- Creating and distributing accounting reports as necessary.
- Updating/Maintaining BOM’s for existing items.
- Complete period close (monthly) tasks, including analyzing data, writing journal entries, and Accounting reports/scorecards.
- Assists in the other duties as directed by their supervisor as the incumbent builds on their experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Prior Accounting experience, preferably Cost Accounting.
- Ability to think critically and logically.
- Demonstrated pattern of initiative and dedication.
- Excellent pattern of attendance reliability.
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
- Well-developed written and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with use of computers, including Microsoft Office (Excel, email, etc)
Preferred
- Experience working in a food manufacturing or related environment.
- Experience with QAD, or other related Cost Accounting system.
- Experience with perpetual inventory systems.
- Experience with Oracle Financials, or other ERP related system.
- A degree in accounting or finance.
