Laird R&F Products, a Qnity company, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant / General Ledger Accountant to play a key role in financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and business analysis.

In this highly visible role, you will support manufacturing operations through accurate financial reporting, cost management, and general ledger oversight. Working with minimal supervision, you will analyze complex financial data, ensure compliance with accounting policies and controls, and provide insights that support sound business decisions.

What You'll Do
  • Perform monthly general ledger close activities and support the preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
  • Maintain standard costs for inventory items and support ongoing cost accounting processes.
  • Lead the annual inventory standard cost revaluation process.
  • Prepare quarterly obsolete inventory analyses and related accounting entries.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances and support inventory valuation activities.
  • Conduct financial analyses and provide reporting that supports operational and business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with both general ledger and cost accounting responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience in a standard cost manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex financial data and resolve accounting issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of Department of Defense contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within Aerospace & Defense manufacturing organizations.
  • Experience with QAD ERP systems.
  • Experience with Sage Fixed Assets software.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting, manufacturing cost structures, and variance analysis.
  • Experience leading process improvements and enhancing accounting controls and procedures.
