The Senior Accountant Position
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for various areas within Tax Equity accounting, Hypothetical Liquidation at Book Value (HLBV), Commercial Accounting and Fixed Assets. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will require performing accounting functions for month end and quarterly close tasks, account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, HLBV modeling inputs, and other key areas of general accounting.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
· Perform related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and company policy for tax equity partnerships, commercial accounting and fixed assets.
· Record and maintain intercompany balances for tax equity
· Prepare quarterly inputs within HLBV models
· Prepare business markets (commercial solar) related journals.
· Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements
· Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
· Prepare month end journal entries
· Prepare, review, and clearly communicate various analyses and other information to members of management and external auditors
· Analyze monthly results and perform variance analysis
· Satisfy tax reporting and other regulatory reporting requirements
· Other duties as necessary
Minimum Requirements
· Minimum of three years of accounting experience
· An undergraduate degree with an accounting concentration is required
Preferred Qualifications
· CPA is preferred
· Public accounting experience is preferred
· Experience in renewable energy space is a plus
· Experience with Salesforce and FinancialForce is a plus

· Experience working with voluminous legal entities and intercompany transactions
· Impeccable integrity: words and actions must continually reinforce this characteristic
· A team player that has knowledge and experience in US generally accepted accounting principles and who has a successful track record meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency and issue spotting and resolution
