Alcon is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will ensure compliance with financial transaction recording standards, control and reconcile accounts and records, and prepare accounting reports for both internal and external audiences. You will also support cost accounting, budgeting, and manage accounts payable/receivable and credit & collections.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Ensure compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.).
- Control and reconcile accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.).
- Prepare accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and/or for external audiences (compliance reporting), including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, etc.
- Support cost accounting/budgeting (allocation of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, etc.).
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and credit & collections.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced English level; able to express concerns and ideas comfortably in multicultural environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
