ROLE HIGHLIGHTS 

General Ledger, Financial & Management Accounting 

  •  Lead and coordinate on month-end close processes and activities across the region including review of cost accruals, prepaid amortizations and B2C entries, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met 
  •  Oversee the completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations on timely manner and have monthly reviews with the Financial Controller 
  •  Perform monthly analytical review on Sales, COGS, and other key lines and identify possible misrepresentations and/or errors 
  •  Participate in sales and operations meetings to understand business drivers and the implications to the financials 
  •  Maintain, enforce and continuously improve finance policies, procedures and internal controls across the region 
  •  Support ad-hoc assignments, initiatives and projects 

Accounts Receivable & Sales Support 

  •  Monitor and track open sales orders on a daily basis and proactively liaise with Sales team on customer order and payment statuses 
  •  Maintain a close eye on customer credits and be a first point of contact for Sales team on disputes, deposits, credits and the likes 
  •  Oversee regional KYC compliance framework and ensure ongoing compliance with local requirements and internal guidelines 

Cash Flow Management 

  •  Prepare and present weekly cash flow forecasts in regional review meetings 
  •  Challenge assumptions to improve overall forecasting accuracy 
  •  Coordinate and follow up on agreed actions following the weekly review meetings 
  •  Monitor currency needs & conversion 

Tax & Statutory Compliance 

  •  Lead tax compliance and statutory reporting across the region, coordinating with external tax advisors and local accountants to ensure accurate, timely filings and payments 

Inventory 

  •  Support inventory reconciliation and monitor ageing and turnover metrics in collaboration with the rest of the Finance team and with Operations team 

Payroll 

  •  Coordinate fortnight and monthly payroll with HR and external providers 
  •  Calculate and process sales commissions for regional sales managers 

The successful applicant: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (Master’s degree or professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent highly regarded) 
  •  At least 5 years of accounting/financial control experience, ideally with multi-jurisdiction exposure across APAC  
  •  Fluent business English and Cantonese – both spoken and written  
  •  Strong working knowledge of tax and statutory compliance requirements in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan (Dubai knowledge is a plus) 
  •  Superior attention to detail combined with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines 
  •  Highly process-driven with track record of documenting, improving and enforcing financial controls and procedures 
  •  Uncompromising integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information 
  •  Proficiency in MS Excel and Word 
  •  Proactive, self-motivated and resilient – need to be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team, in a high pressure and fast-paced environment

Other discretionary experience/talents: 

  •  Experience with NetSuite or other major integrated ERP systems 
  •  Experience in the mobile / technology sector, especially in a fast-paced environment

Skills Required
