Job SummaryThe Sr. Accountant II will lead the reporting for the monthly financial statement reporting, quarterly management discussion and analysis (MD&A), and GAAP external financial statements across the accounting organization. The accountant will act as a business partner between all organizations outside of accounting (including but not limited to operations and supply chain teams, fleet management, AP, Treasury, finance organization, and external auditors). The person will use their accounting knowledge and technical expertise to produce timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting. The accountant will drive process improvements and improve documentation quality throughout the financial reporting process.CompensationThe salary range for this position is $94,100 - $122,250. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, skills, and other factors permitted by law.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Represent the accounting organization's values and processes providing high quality support to leadership teams
  • Lead the financial reporting for:
    • Monthly financial statements with emphasis on Statement of Cash Flows
    • Quarterly reporting including MD&A
    • Annual GAAP financial statements including footnote preparation
    • Maintain system of controls to ensure accuracy and reliability
    • Conceive, design, test and implement process improvements in reporting processes across accounting function
  • Standard Accounting responsibilities including:
    • Account Reconciliations preparation
    • Lead monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement variance analysis
    • Monthly close responsibilities (accruals, journal entry prep)
    • Ad hoc projects
    • Support Sr. Manager in month end close administration
    • Policy and process documentation
  • Identify and respond to changes in business conditions and operations effects on financial reporting
  • Help direct planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of accounting processes. Interpret and recommend modification to existing policies and practices.
  • Navigate multiple systems in the organization for accounting and reporting functions
  • Technical accounting memo preparation
  • Assist with maintenance of the company's chart of accounts
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting; and approximately seven (7) or more years' related experience and/or training
  • CPA required
  • Experience with Statement of Cash Flows and understanding of non-cash transactions required
  • Experience preparing External GAAP-compliant financial statements, footnotes and disclosures
  • Experience in aviation industry required

  • Advanced Excel skills including but not limited to pivot tables and XLOOKUPs

Computer Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as an Accounting System
  • Aviation and Healthcare experience preferred
  • Solomon general ledger systems beneficial
  • Oracle Fusion System experience beneficial
  • Use of artificial intelligence in financial reporting processes

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • CPA license required
