The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this role is a key contributor to our revenue processes, financial reporting, and technical accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at collaboration, and maintains a strong focus on both our internal operations and our customers.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for driving efficiency and improvements within all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting that adheres to US GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Execute many aspects of the monthly close, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses across the general ledger.
- Complete revenue related month end close tasks including preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline close and accelerate close timelines.
- Assist the USA based accounting team with revenue operation including group sales billing, collection and related reporting.
- Provide clear and concise flux commentary for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis.
- Help accurately accrue expenses.
- Enhance documentation, reconciliation schedules, and analyses to maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Support ERP enhancements and system implementations as needed.
- Help develop, measure and report out on key performance indicators (KPIs) for top-line revenue.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Revenue, Technical Accounting, FP&A, legal.) to provide strategic insights and work towards shared goals.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and technical accounting research as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficient at speaking english in a professional environment.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and working for a publicly traded organization.
- Experience working with financial ERP or general ledger systems; NetSuite experience is a plus. In addition, experience with FloQast, Zip, and Brex are preferred.
- Experience with a Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly desirable.
- SaaS or technology industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a team-oriented setting.
- Certified Public Accountant designation is highly desired, but not required.
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
