Job Summary
This position will be responsible for assisting in the Comcast Corporation enterprise-wide controllership and consolidation process and activities supporting the preparation of SEC filings.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Supports certain functions of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CA&R) department, including consolidated activities related to the Comcast Corporation monthly and quarterly close and consolidation process, including preparing key support for SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K Earnings Release, Annual Proxy).
- Partners with financial systems, divisions, and controllership teams to support CA&R projects and initiatives.
- Prepares top side journal entries to ensure consolidated financials are reported accurately.
- Prepares financial statement analysis information and ensure proper variance trends are reported.
- Supports the team’s foreign currency initiatives.
- Prepares support work papers for disclosures in SEC filings.
- Supports requests for internal and external auditors while developing strong partnerships with internal corporate, divisional stakeholders and external auditors.
- Supports the integrity of controls over the consolidations process through checklists and other methods to ensure compliance with the regulations resulting from SOX.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA a plus.
- Generally requires 1-3 years related experience.
- Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks.
- Experience with systems and emerging technologies such as OneStream, Workiva Wdesk, Oracle, SAP, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
