We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Controller (d/f/m) to join our Finance Team at kleinanzeigen.de in Berlin.

Our Financial Accounting & Controlling Team in Germany is responsible for a broad range of activities and works closely with local teams (FP&A, FinOps, Tax, Legal, HR), the Central Regional Accounting Team in Amsterdam, Central Functions in Barcelona and Shared Services in Romania and India. You will report to the Head of Accounting and Controlling.

• Complete month-, quarter- and year end close following IFRS and local German GAAP requirements

• Prepare financial statement according to local German GAAP (HGB)

• Support external financial and tax audits and communications with German authorities and auditors

• Responsible for reconciliation of VAT return and Balance Sheet

• Monitoring of the Shared Services Activities, e.g. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

• Ensure implementation of Group wide policies and processes

• Work closely with local teams (FP&A, FinOps, Tax) and the Shared Services Centers on tax, billing and accounting topics

• Improve existing Accounting workflows and increase efficiencies by automation and implementation of process improvements

• Minimum 7 years professional experience in roles with a strong focus on Accounting

• Bachelor- or Masters degree / MBA Accounting & Controlling

• Strong HGB / German GAAP and preferably also IFRS knowledge

• Proven operational finance capability; close & compliance experience

• Ability to analyse, simplify and communicate complex problems in a clear concise way for the business

• Good knowledge of Excel, Power Point, SAP, Salesforce or similar consolidating/reporting tools

• Business fluent in German, strong English skills in writing and speaking

• Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to professionalism and integrity
