🎯 Senior Account Manager, Amazon Marketplace (Brand Manager)

📍 San Diego, CA 92101 - onsite at Symphony Towers, 5 days a week
💰 $100,000 – $135,000 base
📦 Enterprise brands · Individual contributor, no direct reports

As one of the top 5 Amazon sellers in the US, Luminize runs the full growth layer for 80 to 100 consumer brands. As a Senior Account Manager you own a book of enterprise brands as their day-to-day strategic partner - forecast, PPC direction, catalog health, promotional calendar - with our advertising, content and supply chain specialists executing alongside you.

This is an individual-contributor role. You own a book of brands, not a team of people.

What you will actually own
  • The forecast for every brand in your book, and the conversation when it moves
  • The growth plan: where the account should be spending, listing, promoting, and why
  • The advertising direction, set with our strategists who run the campaigns
  • The client relationship - you are the person they call, not a coordinator between them and someone else
  • Catalog health, promotional calendars and the operational detail that decides whether the plan survives contact with Q4

Different companies title this job differently. If one of these is yours, you are in the right place:

Amazon Account Manager · Senior Amazon Account Manager · Amazon Marketplace Manager · Marketplace Account Manager · Amazon Brand Manager (agency, accelerator or aggregator side) · Ecommerce Account Manager · Amazon Seller Central Account Manager · Client Success Manager, Ecommerce · Account Manager (Amazon or retail media agency) · Associate Account Director · Amazon Channel Manager · Brand Success Manager (Amazon aggregator) · Strategic Account Manager, Ecommerce · Marketplace Specialist ready for a full book

One honest filter before you spend time applying: the bar here is external client brands - brands that belonged to someone else and could have fired you - three or more at a time. If all your Amazon experience is in-house on your own employer's own brands, however deep it goes, this is a different job from the one you have been doing, and our hiring record says that gap is hard to close once you are in the seat.

✅ Required
  • Agency, accelerator or aggregator experience managing external client brands - brands that belonged to someone else and could have fired you. This is the bar we screen hardest on, and in-house ownership of your own employer's brands, however deep, is a different job.
  • 3 or more external client brands managed simultaneously
  • Hands-on Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central within the last 6 months - currently in the platform yourself
  • Comfortable in a forecast and a P&L; you build the sheet rather than receive it
  • Client-facing confidence: you can present a plan, take the pushback, and hold the number
  • Able to work onsite in San Diego 5 days a week
➕ Preferred, not required
  • Vendor Central alongside Seller Central
  • CPG, health, wellness or beauty category experience
  • Advertising fluency deep enough to challenge a strategist's plan
  • Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent in experience
💵 About the pay

We post the whole band, $100,000 to $135,000 base, and we mean all of it. Where you land is not about years on a résumé. It comes down to the book you can carry now - how many external client brands you have run at once, how complex they were, and how much of the forecast was genuinely yours.

🏢 Why this job is onsite

Five days a week is stricter than most of this market, and here is the reason. Because we own the inventory on most of our brands, an account decision touches what we bought, what is in stock, what the listing says and what advertising is spending. The people who do this well get the answer in person in ninety seconds rather than in a thread the next morning.

Relocating? Relocation support is available for the right candidate. Raise it early in the process.

📅 Your first 90 days

Two weeks of Trainual, processes and meeting the specialists you will work with daily. Then 90 days learning the Luminize account methodology by shadowing live books and working real scenarios from ours. Your first directly owned brands come inside the first month or two, ramping toward a full book of eight to twelve.

🏙 Symphony Towers
  • Panoramic city and coastline views from your workspace
  • Free building gym access, no separate membership
  • 24/7 paid downtown parking, blocks from the office, plus secure bike storage
  • Exclusive discounts at tower restaurants and cafes
  • Steps from 100+ top-rated bars, restaurants, coffee shops and Petco Park
  • Ergonomic standing desks, fully stocked kitchen, snacks, espresso
  • Monthly all-company lunches, and a team lounge with a pool table
📈 Where this seat goes

The near path is depth. Above this seat is Principal Account Manager, our senior individual-contributor book, where the brands get bigger and the book gets smaller. That path is open today, it is the one most people here take, and the bar for it is written down rather than implied: the scale of the single largest account you can genuinely own.

The other path is people leadership. We are growing, and a growing account team needs managers. We are not going to promise you a team on a date we cannot name - we would rather under-promise here than have you find out in month six. What we will tell you is that when those seats open we look inside first, and we have a strong record of filling them that way.

Either way, we publish leveling guidelines, so you will know what each step asks of you long before you are asked to reach for it.

🎁 Benefits
  • Comprehensive medical through Anthem Blue Cross, multiple plans
  • Dental and vision, including orthodontia and annual exams
  • Pet benefits — savings on vet care, products and services
  • 120 hours of vacation accrued annually, with rollover
  • Paid holidays and sick time
  • 401(k) with company match
