Department OverviewThe NGCS sales team plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering mission-critical Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Call Processing and NGCS Call Routing infrastructure nationwide. By unifying voice, video, and data feeds, our sales and sales integration experts empower emergency call centers and public safety agencies to operate with higher accuracy, focus, and speed.
Job Description
We are seeking a Sales Account Executive to drive the growth and technical positioning of our Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) portfolio across the United States. In this role, you will lead a balanced strategy of territory expansion through net-new account acquisition and strategic revenue expansion across existing agency relationships. You will partner directly with the NGCS Presales architecture team, engineering leads, product management, and regional sales executives to translate complex mission-critical needs into customized, end-to-end emergency routing and call processing architectures.
Responsibilities:
Drive targeted outbound sales strategies to uncover new NGCS and NG9-1-1 opportunities across unpenetrated public safety networks and regional emergency authorities
Lead high-impact product demonstrations and technical presentations at regional and national trade shows to build pipeline awareness
Qualify net-new sales opportunities and position Motorola Solutions as the premier technical integration partner for modernizing public safety infrastructure
Cultivate long-term, trusted advisory partnerships with key agency stakeholders, public safety directors, and emergency communications authorities
Conduct continuous account reviews and site evaluations to identify expansion opportunities for software upgrades and additional ecosystem integrations
Collaborate with internal customer success, engineering, and support teams to help to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and long-term account retention
Partner closely with Solution Architects to translate complex agency requirements into complete system designs, Statements of Work (SOW), and competitive bid responses
Oversee technical proposal development, validating system quotations, equipment lists, and architectural drawings for accuracy before executive submission
Lead competitive RFP and sole-source bidding strategies within tight deadlines to secure multi-year software and services contracts
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, customer success, military and/or public safety
OR 8+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, customer success, military and/or public safety
Sales experience in a technical field, computer software industry, or government sales preferred
Experience selling to multiple levels, project stakeholders, and committees a plus
Experience with large ticket products having long sales cycles beneficial
Consistently proactive toward lead and opportunity qualification and development processes
Possess both consultative and relationship-based sales qualities when engaging with prospective customers
Familiar with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) upkeep, management, forecasting, and maintenance of sales pipeline activities
Location/Travel:
Preferred candidates will live in Texas
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned territory
Target Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 USD
