Senior 3D Artist (Generalist) is responsible for creating environment and character content across Torpor Games’titles, with a focus on architecture, interiors, characters, and set dressing. Given the size of the studio, this role alsocarries pipeline ownership: you’ll help shape how the team works, not just produce assets.
Job requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a 3D Generalist, Environment Artist, or similar role in the games industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing semi-realistic character and/or environment work.
  • Good eye for shape language, form, composition, lighting, material definition, scale, visual hierarchy, and style consistency.
  • Ability to work across visual styles, from semi-realistic to stylized, depending on project needs.
  • Experience creating modular, reusable asset systems, trim sheets, and assembled environments.
  • Experience modeling characters and setting up body rigs and skin weights.
  • Solid understanding of the full 3D art pipeline, including modeling, UV layout, baking, texturing, materials, optimization, and engine implementation.
  • Professional experience working with Unity.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools, including Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clarify direction, document decisions, and explain complex problems clearly.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback professionally across disciplines.
  • Critical eye for evaluating scenes and assets, with the ability to identify what works, what doesn't, how to improve it, and take action.
  • Strong sense of ownership and follow-through, with a proactive approach to improving workflows rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to document workflows and create clear production guidelines for other artists.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one shipped game or comparable real-time interactive project.
  • Familiarity with Shader Graph (Unity URP) for creating custom material effects.
  • Experience with production and collaboration tools such as Notion, Codecks, Jira, Miro, Slack, or Confluence.
  • Passion for narrative-driven RPGs or political games.

Job responsibilities
  • Create high-quality 3D environment art, props, characters, modular assets, materials, trim sheets, and world-building content, with a strong focus on set dressing and environmental storytelling.
  • Model characters and set up body rigs and skin weights.
  • Integrate assets into Unity, including material setup, shaders, prefabs, and optimization.
  • Establish and continuously improve the 3D production pipeline, including workflows, naming conventions, folder structures, file organization, and export presets.
  • Document processes, best practices, and workflow guidance for the wider team.
  • Proactively identify and communicate production risks, including unclear direction, workflow gaps, quality concerns, technical blockers, and schedule slippage.

Skills Required
