JOB SUMMARY:
The SEM Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing search engine marketing campaigns to drive client success. This role involves developing SEM strategies, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve client goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEM, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Location:
Candidates must be located in Illinois, Texas, Colorado, or Michigan. For individuals based in our Michigan and Illinois locations, this will be a hybrid role, requiring both in-office and remote work. For candidates in Texas and Colorado, this position will be fully remote.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and manage SEM campaigns across Google Ads, Bing Ads, and other search platforms.
  • Conduct keyword research, ad copywriting, and A/B testing to optimize campaign performance.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve ROI.
  • Manage budgets, pacing, and bidding strategies to ensure cost-effective campaign execution.
  • Collaborate with account managers, creative teams, and clients to align SEM strategies with overall marketing goals.
  • Prepare and present detailed performance reports and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest SEM trends, tools, and best practices to ensure campaigns are cutting-edge.
  • Lead the development of retargeting and remarketing strategies to re-engage past website visitors.
  • Work with analytics teams to track conversions, set up tracking pixels, and ensure accurate data collection.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for improving campaign performance.
  • Optimize landing pages in collaboration with UX/UI teams to improve Quality Score and conversion rates.
  • Ensure compliance with platform policies and industry regulations in all SEM activities.
  • Utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline campaign management and reporting.
  • Participate in new business pitches and contribute to the development of SEM proposals.
  • Coordinate with SEO teams to ensure integrated search strategies that maximize organic and paid search performance.
  • Manage client communication related to SEM projects, addressing any concerns or questions promptly.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cross-channel integration, including display, social, and video advertising.
  • Conduct regular audits of SEM accounts to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Handle troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to campaign delivery, tracking, or performance.


Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing SEM campaigns, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Proven track record of managing successful SEM campaigns with measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of Google Ads, Bing Ads, and other major search engine platforms.
  • Experience with bid management tools like Marin, Kenshoo, or Search Ads 360.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and how they integrate with SEM strategies.
  • Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization, and landing page optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certifications in Google Ads, Bing Ads, or other relevant SEM platforms are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with e-commerce and lead generation campaigns is preferred.
  • Tech Stack/Platforms: Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, SEMrush, SA360, Marin, Adobe Media Optimizer


The hiring range for this discipline within our industry is $65,000 to $85,000. Where an employee is paid within this range will depend on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, years of experience, education, internal pay structure, and other contributing factors.
