About the role: 

The Security Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the organization’s security posture by assisting in the implementation and support of security measures and tools.  You will play an integral role in safeguarding our organization's identity and access landscape. The Security Engineer will assist in strategy, planning, vendor selection, assessment and implementation. This role will encompass a broad range of security topics, ranging from secure development to security culture.  You will report to the Senior Director, Information Security

What you'll do:

• Implement security tools, monitor alerts, assist with risk assessments.
• Assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures. 
• Assist in developing and implementing automation processes to streamline IAM/PAM workflows and improve efficiency. 
• Respond to security incidents and implement appropriate containment and remediation actions. 
• Build and examine reports, data, and analytics to improve and troubleshoot security systems.
• Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and investigate security incidents. 
• Collaborate with security team to investigate and remediate DLP violations 
• Manage privileged accounts and credentials, ensuring secure storage and access. 
• Develop and maintain documentation for ITAM, vulnerability management, and patching processes. 
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks. 
• Work with IT operations teams to ensure successful patching of all systems. 
• Support audits, gather evidence, maintain documentation.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems (or related degree), or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security engineering with a focus on IAM and IR. 
• CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security/Network (Preferred)  
• Experience supporting IAM solutions (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, Azure PIM, Okta). 
• Good understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, etc.) and authorization models (RBAC, ABAC). 
• Experience with security automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#). 
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems a plus. 
• Experience working in MS Azure environment (certification preferred)  

Location: Hybrid (Merchandise Mart, Chicago IL)

Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000

The salary range for this position reflects an expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to): location, relevant experience/level and skillset, education and training, internal equity as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.
