In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of security and low voltage system installation projects-from initial planning to final closeout. The candidate will be directly involved in field operations, collaborating with service staff, technicians, and clients to ensure successful execution and commissioning of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project proposals and documentation to determine project goals, timelines, resource requirements, funding constraints, and staffing needs.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including strategic goals, scheduling, risk identification, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
  • Define technical scope and project objectives based on customer requirements and system specifications.
  • Identify and track project milestones, key deliverables, and task dependencies.
  • Assign responsibilities and establish clear scopes of authority for project personnel.
  • Coordinate and direct project team members, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure that work progresses according to schedule and scope.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to security and low voltage (SLV) systems, including hardware failures, software malfunctions, and network connectivity disruptions.
  • Collaborate with field technicians to provide technical support, direction, and problem-solving throughout installation, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Perform site surveys and assessments to determine project scope, anticipate potential obstacles, and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison, coordinating with both internal teams and external partners to ensure timely resolution of system-related concerns.
  • Monitor project progress and make schedule and scope adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare regular status reports and communicate project updates to clients, management, and stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout materials.
  • Respond to changes in project scope or specifications and coordinate the implementation of approved changes.
  • Oversee project budgets, generate customer billing, and review supplier/vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, job site safety, and professionalism.
  • Provide accurate forecasting of project costs and billing.
  • Maintain a strong team-oriented environment and support other project managers or internal departments when needed.
  • Conduct project closeouts including punch lists, customer sign-off, and documentation turnover.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of low voltage and security systems including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and structured cabling.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical and construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of building systems.
  • Strong familiarity with local/national codes (NEC, NFPA, OSHA) and security system compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and project management tools.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record required.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a lead role with security and/or low voltage systems.
  • PMP or other project management certification a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across commercial or industrial job sites.
