About the RoleThe Secondary English Teacher will create engaging and meaningful learning experiences that promote strong literacy, communication, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to adapt to living and working in a new cultural environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver effective English Language and Literature lessons aligned with curriculum guidelines
Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and critical‑thinking skills
Use varied instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and examinations
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support continuous academic growth
Build a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional practices
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student development
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related subject
Recognized teaching qualification for secondary education i.e PGCE
Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level
Strong understanding of English curriculum standards and assessment practices
Excellent communication and classroom‑management skills
Ability to adapt to a new cultural and professional environment
Commitment to fostering respect for local customs and cultural values
Experience teaching in the Middle East or within an international school setting
Familiarity with American curriculum frameworks
Advanced degree in English or Education
