The SE Manager, Product Development Engineering is the authority and the most senior member of the System Engineering discipline. The role requires the establishment and management of a multi-tiered, professional System Engineering team. Additional responsibilities include maintenance of Systems Engineering processes and procedures. The SE Manager is responsible for fostering professionalism, growth, and job satisfaction among team members. The role is required to collaborate with the other departments in the company in developing new products and supporting products in the field. This is a leadership position, part of the Israel Leadership Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of the System Engineering team (40%)
- Responsible for the professional and personal growth of direct reports including coaching and performance management
- Ensures that the team has the required capabilities to perform their duties
- Maintains team’s satisfaction and growth.
- Responsible for keeping team members are updated with current and emerging SE methodologies, attending symposia and professional courses.
- Development of the System Engineering methodology (20%)
- Works closely with stakeholders from Quality, Regulatory, Software, LCM and others to ensure SE inputs are shared with the organization.
- Ensures SE is represented in project reviews, design reviews and other reviews.
- Ensures Systems Engineering processes, tools and procedures are current.
- Interaction with internal and external customers and stakeholders (10%)
- Interact with external customers to understand ongoing market trends and customer needs.
- Interact with internal customers to ensure developed solutions are in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines.
- May be required to attend CAPA, NC and other quality activities
- New Product Development (20%)
- Ensures that SE deliverables are accurate and complete
- Promotes a technical vision for Acclarent’s navigated products such as sensors and the TruDi® navigation system
- General (10%)
- Communicates business related issues and opportunities with management
- Follows all applicable procedures and guidelines
- Ensures that direct reports follow all applicable procedures and guidelines
- Performs other duties assigned as needed by management
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 15 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary design focused engineering team
• Master’s degree in systems engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Hardware, Software, Mechanical or Biomedical engineer
• Minimum of 3 years as a Systems Engineering team leader
• Development of Medical devices – advantage
• Development in Agile environments – advantage
• Strong Leadership skills and ability to coach, lead and develop the team
• Collaborative and able to work well with cross functional teams across Integra
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Solution focused mindset
• Clear communication skills both verbal and written, in applicable languages
