About the role:
We're hiring an SDR Team Lead to lead our New York outbound Sales Development team of 6-8 SDRs. You'll own the team's qualified-meeting and pipeline results, coach every rep to get better every week, and hire and onboard new SDRs as we grow into 2027.
This is a first leadership step for a top-performing Senior SDR or BDR who has consistently hit their numbers, earned a promotion, and is ready to lead. If you've been mentoring newer reps and want to turn that into a real management role, this is it. You'll stay close to the work, too: when the team needs it, you'll pick up the phone and book meetings alongside them.
What are we looking forWe're looking for a top-performing Senior SDR or BDR who is ready to step into leadership and be:
A coach who makes the team better
- Runs weekly 1:1s with each SDR on pipeline, activity, and blockers
- Coaches hands-on across phone, email, and LinkedIn, using call reviews, live call listening, message reviews, and role-play on objection handling and cold outreach
- Gives direct, frequent feedback and always follows up to make sure it turns into real change
- Leads from the front, sets the energy in the office, and jumps into prospecting when the team needs it
An owner of the team's numbers
- Takes ownership of weekly, monthly, and quarterly attainment against qualified-meeting and pipeline targets
- Sets clear goals and tracks activity, conversion, and quality metrics per rep (calls, sequences, meetings booked, meetings held, meeting-to-opportunity conversion)
- Spots underperformance early and leads improvement plans when needed
- Reports team performance to the Senior SDR Manager, celebrates wins, and addresses challenges quickly so every SDR knows their impact
A team builder
- Partners with the People team to hire great SDRs for the New York team
- Owns onboarding and ramp for every new SDR who joins
A strong partner across teams
- Keeps outbound playbooks, cadences, and enablement materials sharp and up to date
- Works with AE Team Leads to keep the SDR-to-AE handoff clean and meeting quality high
- Partners with Marketing and Revenue Operations on messaging, data hygiene, and reporting
Required
- 2+ years in outbound sales development (SDR/BDR). Inbound experience is a plus, but outbound is a must.
- A consistent track record of hitting or beating quota
- At least one promotion earned through performance (for example, SDR to Senior SDR)
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to give clear feedback and represent the team to sales leadership
- Comfortable reading activity, conversion, and pipeline dashboards and turning the numbers into action
- Based in the New York City area and able to work from our Chelsea office 4-5 days per week
Nice to have
- Experience selling a complex product: commercial real estate, fintech, proptech, or another vertical SaaS with a sophisticated buyer
- Formal or informal experience mentoring other SDRs (onboarding new hires, running role-plays, or a rep reporting to you)
- Has built or improved an outbound playbook or cadence
- Experience with a CRM and sales engagement tools. We use HubSpot, Amplemarket, and Orum, but any comparable tools are great. We'll train you on ours.
How you work
- You lead from the front. You take initiative, act without waiting for direction, and bring energy and positivity to the office every day.
- You give direct, frequent feedback. Coaching is a daily habit, not a once-a-quarter event, and you always close the loop.
- You use data to coach, not to replace the conversation. Numbers help you have better conversations with reps. You're not managing by dial count alone.
- You build people. You see the SDR seat as a path to AE and measure your success by your reps' growth and promotions.
- You thrive in a competitive environment. You're comfortable on a quota-carrying floor and keep morale high through slower months.
Why you'll love working at Agora
- Comprehensive health insurance
- Unlimited paid time off
- Stock options and ownership opportunities
- Commuter and lunch benefits
- Team events, offsites, and an energetic company culture
- Real opportunities for personal and professional growth
We're here for people who dream big, take ownership, and treat others with kindness and respect, while building something exceptional, together.
Compensation
The base salary for this role starts at $80,000 and is negotiable based on experience. The role also includes commission tied to team quota attainment, with total compensation generally structured as a 70/30 base-to-variable split, plus stock options and benefits.
