Description of Task to be Performed:
Come join our growing team and make a difference every day! AnaVation is seeking a Scrum Master to join our team and lead agile development efforts across cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be passionate about Agile methodologies, skilled in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and adept at fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As a Scrum Master, you will serve as a servant-leader, working closely with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and services.
Key responsibilities include:
· Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
· Plan and lead major technology assignments.
· Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
· Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
· Facilitate for an agile development team within the SAFe framework.
· Lead the organization and change agent for Lean-Agile techniques, processes, and principles.
· Help the other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; with the goal of assisting the team meet
their Iteration Objectives.
· Facilitate the team’s progress toward team goals. Continuously engaged in challenging the team to improve
performance, quality, predictability, and velocity.
· Lead team efforts in relentless improvement – Help the team improve and take responsibility for their actions;
facilitate the team retrospective.
· Teach problem-solving techniques and help the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
· Facilitate meetings – Facilitate all team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily.
· Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
· Support the Product Owner – The Scrum Master shall assist the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
· Eliminate impediments – Actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
· Protect and Communicate – Communicate with management and outside stakeholders; helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work.
· Facilitate preparation and readiness for ART events – Assist the team in preparation for ART activities, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt.
This position is hybrid, with onsite support as needed at our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Candidates must be able to provide onsite support whenever requested, and are required to live within commuting distance to Clarksburg, WV. AnaVation is not able to provide travel reimbursement when onsite support is required. Hybrid status is expected to continue, but is subject to change according to the direction of the customer.
This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and, if requested by the customer, the ability to successfully pass a polygraph and obtain SCI accesses.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business field preferred
- Experience: 2 years (minimum)
- Required:
- Two or more years of experience with project management and the Agile system.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business field preferred
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Good planning and organization skills
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile related certification such as:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I)
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM)
- Release Train Engineer (RTE)
