What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about driving Agile practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Scrum principles and the ability to mentor and coach engineering teams, ensuring smooth delivery and continuous improvement. You will play a crucial role in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, guiding our team in Agile methodologies, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure product success.

You should have strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills, a proactive attitude toward removing roadblocks, and a drive to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Experience working with distributed teams and familiarity with the project management tools is essential. While knowledge of AI-based identity verification products is a plus, a passion for working with innovative technologies and helping to scale a dynamic team is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Guide the team in adhering to Scrum best practices, ensuring the team is fully engaged in Agile methodology.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure a clear understanding of product backlog items and priorities.
  • Remove any impediments or roadblocks that might hinder the team’s progress, ensuring smooth delivery within sprints.
  • Manage and oversee project planning activities, ensuring work is properly scoped, estimated, and prioritized.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating learning, process adjustments, and experimentation.
  • Mentor and coach team members on Agile principles and practices, helping improve their effectiveness.
  • Ensure the proper use of collaborative processes and remove bottlenecks for the engineering team.
  • Monitor sprint velocity and other key performance metrics to ensure efficiency and progress toward goals.
  • Ensure that work is completed to a high standard by promoting quality assurance and continuous testing practices.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of product goals.
Requirements
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master within a software engineering team.
  • Deep understanding of Scrum, Agile principles, and SDLC in a software development environment.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments, enhancing team collaboration and performance.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Linear, Confluence, or other Agile project management tools.
  • Proven ability to drive change and inspire a team towards a shared goal.
  • Experience working in a startup environment is required.
  • Experience managing or working with distributed teams is essential.
  • Familiarity with identity verification products or AI-based solutions is a plus.
