The role...

This Scientist is highly motivated, has a strong background in epigenetics, and will join a group dedicated to the development and validation of epigenetics-based assays and workflow solutions. This player/coach will lead a team of research associates focused on the testing and validation of antibodies and reagents in CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, and ChIP assays. They will oversee the organization and operation of the team, help maintain a robust and balanced testing pipeline and ensure timely delivery of high-quality data to facilitate the commercialization of best-in-class antibodies. This team-oriented position requires strong scientific, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to interface with other scientists and stakeholders throughout the company.

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • Manage weekly activities of the Epi Apps Validation Team 
  • Establish and ensure execution of operational goals and objectives for the team and work with supervisor to drive long-term strategy and process improvement 
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional application teams to manage a balanced testing and validation pipeline and lead the Epi Apps Validation Team to ensure a quick turnaround and steady flow of materials through the pipeline 
  • Work with the Epi Apps Validation Team to identify bottlenecks, make improvements, and implement automation to increase pipeline efficiency and throughput 
  • Collaborate with Antibody Development Scientists to help identify appropriate model testing systems 
  • Assist research associates with data interpretation to deliver high quality testing results in a timely manner 
  • Engage with key scientists in the field through collaborations, attendance of scientific conferences and interactions with visiting external KOLs 
  • Interface with customers through webinars, seminars, and in-person or virtual visits 
  • Work with the Epi Apps Validation Team to provide best-in-class technical support for customers performing ChIP, CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Ph.D. in a biological science with a strong background in epigenetics 
  • Hands on experience with ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN or CUT&Tag assays 
  • Experience with NG-sequencing and bioinformatics data analysis 
  • Experience working on a highly collaborative team and leading shared projects 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines

Ideally, you have...

  • Knowledge and experience with bioinformatics tools (eg. SAMtools, BEDtools, Bowtie, or MACS) 
  • Familiarity with Linux and Basic R programming

Physical Conditions / Physical Requirements...

  • Standard Laboratory Work environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • May move objects weighing up to 30 pounds across the lab for various needs
  • Work area can be filled with collaborative discussion
  • Work area may have noise from equipment (refrigerator, freezer, etc.)
  • Work environment conditions consist of both sitting and standing throughout the day
