Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a functional leader in biologics production activities, driving innovation in cell line development, protein expression, and purification processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in client-facing project management, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery of high-quality biologics solutions. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Biologics Production Leadership:
- Develop, triage, implement, and troubleshoot innovative strategies for gene synthesis, protein expression, purification, and/or quality control to achieve high yields, purity, and functionality.
- Design and execute experiments for the expression and purification of recombinant proteins using mammalian cell systems.
- Oversee a team of research associates and/or biotechnologists, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of excellence in protein science methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to support the development of biologics, with a focus on early-stage research and production scale-up.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Quality Assurance, Process Development, and Manufacturing) to ensure alignment and efficiency in biologics production workflows.
- Client-Facing Project Management:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing project timelines, deliverables, and communication to ensure client satisfaction.
- Translate client requirements into actionable project plans, ensuring alignment with technical capabilities and business objectives.
- Provide regular updates to clients on project progress, challenges, and solutions, maintaining transparency and trust.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, preparing detailed technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of scientific publications, conference presentations, and webinars to showcase innovative findings and advancements.
- Innovation & Intellectual Property:
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific and technological advancements in protein science, cell engineering, and biologics production.
- Generate novel ideas and contribute to the company’s intellectual property portfolio by drafting scientific papers, filing patents and reporting innovations in scientific forums.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
- Ph.D., in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Structural Biology, Bioengineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in antibody design, protein expression, and purification, preferably in an industrial setting.
- A demonstrated record of success with protein engineering for enhanced protein expression or properties.
- Expertise in various protein purification techniques (e.g., affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography, etc.).
- Experience with the biophysical characterization of proteins and the assessment of protein-protein interactions.
- Familiarity with automation and high-throughput techniques for protein expression and purification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in analytical techniques such as CE-SDS, BLI, and mass spectrometry.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications, presentations, and conferences.
