The Role:
ElevateBio is seeking a motivated Scientist to join the Next-Generation Sequencing Core. The successful candidate will possess detailed knowledge and experience in advanced next-generation sequencing technologies such as amplicon sequencing, whole-exome sequencing, and bulk RNA-seq. This will be a 6 month contract.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Execute complex protocols, specifically NGS-based library preparation and complementary molecular protocols that fit the needs of ongoing and future projects.
- Collaborate with internal clients to design, perform and interpret NGS assays.
- Maintain project timelines, troubleshoot assays and recommend innovative approaches based on experimental data or new scientific information.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain NGS and other workflow associated instrumentation.
- Perform routine wet lab testing of established NGS workflows to streamline and maintain high quality output data.
- Keep an excellent electronic lab notebook (eLN) compliant with company record keeping policies and best practices in the field.
- Contribute to general lab management (ordering, organization, optimization).
Requirements:
- A BS with 10+ years /MS with 8+ years / PhD with 1-3 years industry experience
- Hands-on experience and expertise in next generation sequencing instrumentation, protocols and troubleshooting.
- Experience with instrument automation for library preparation (Beckman Biomek i7) is preferred.
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate work on several simultaneous projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
