Oak Hall School invites qualified candidates to serve as a Test Proctor in our Middle and Upper School testing centers. The Test Proctor ensures the integrity and fair administration of exams by managing testing materials, supervising test-takers, and ensuring that school testing policies are enforced. The test proctoring schedule and hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8am- 4pm, and for approximately 2 hours on Thursday. The anticipated start date for this position is August, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the mission of Oak Hall School
- Engage with students, colleagues and families in a positive and professional manner
- Take and report student attendance as needed
- Connect and troubleshoot varied hardware configurations or on-line learning platforms, such as Canvas, as needed
- Fully and carefully execute the teacher’s testing instructions, assisting students as appropriate in understanding the instructions
- Distribute, collect and account for all testing materials
- Promote and foster student engagement in the testing process by ensuring a calm, quiet, organized and distraction-free environment in the testing center
- Understand all school testing policies, practices, and procedures, and monitor for potential scenarios of academic dishonesty
- Communicate all potential issues or problems promptly to division administration or teacher
- At times, duties may also include serving in office staff capacity, to assist in the orderly administration of the testing center
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures of the school, participate in drills, radio checks, etc.
- Adhere to school policies as described in the Employee Handbook and other materials
Qualifications and Attributes
- High school diploma required, with Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience and capability with basic Microsoft Office platforms, including Forms and Excel
- Applicants should have an interest in and understanding of working with children in an educational setting
- Classroom or educational experience preferred
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change at short notice
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of school policies
- Strong organizational and age-appropriate communication skills
- Must be ethical, observant, and able to maintain high degrees of confidentiality
- Must be able to execute the testing plans and/maintain the testing environment in a calm, professional manner
- Must have the willingness, and ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty
- A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school
- Ability and good judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
• Works in a classroom environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
• Regularly uses close and distance vision
• May stand for extended periods of time
• May work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time
• Ability to visually and audibly locate students under their supervision
• Occasionally turn, bend, reach, stoop, and squat
