Position Summary
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable School Age Educator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children ages 5–14 in our School Age program. The ideal candidate enjoys building positive relationships with children, supports social-emotional development, and creates fun, hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, teamwork, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children at all times.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, and behavioral development using positive guidance techniques.
- Assist children with homework as needed.
- Maintain accurate attendance and follow all sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding children's daily experiences.
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators and leadership to provide high-quality programming.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and program policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with field trips, special events, and school vacation programming as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with school-age children in an educational, recreational, or childcare setting preferred.
- Dependable, organized, and flexible.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and participate in children's activities.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday split shift 6:30-9:30/1:30-5:30 on school days/ 35 hours guaranteed
- Straight shift/8 hours a day/40 hours a week on no school days such as summer or school closure days
