Henry Ford Hematology & Oncology - Jackson (Gayle M. Jacob Cancer Center), now a part of Henry Ford Cancer, focuses on the treatment of cancer through medication, including chemotherapy (as opposed to radiation or surgery).
From the Hiring Manager: Our Scheduling Coordinators handle very complex scheduling for our patients - labs, provider appointments, infusions (100s of different medications and time frames for our infusion room), injections, port flushes, diagnostic testing, referrals etc.

As a Scheduling Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care by coordinating surgeries, appointments, and diagnostic procedures. You'll support physicians, clinical staff, and patients by managing schedules, obtaining authorizations, and providing education. Your work will directly contribute to a smooth and efficient healthcare experience for our patients.

What You Will Do
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries, post-op appointments, and surgical clearances.
- Arrange pre-admission testing, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Manage referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.
- Provide patient education to ensure informed and prepared care.

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Ability to maintain high customer service standards and follow organizational protocols.
- Strong teamwork skills with managers, physicians, and clinical staff.
- Proven ability to anticipate issues and suggest improvements.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of scheduling experience.
- EPIC experience and knowledge of CPT, ICD9, ICD10 codes.
