POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY 

The Scheduler is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by technical planning of the project for the purpose of finding out and planning the construction procedures and means of production necessary, the external ambiguities and conditioning factors, the most appropriate order for performance of the work and the partial deadlines and final deadline for completion of the work.

LOCATION 

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.  

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
  1. Monitor the project planning, resource analysis, functional integration and forecast and trend analysis.
  2. Reviews schedules and to prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings of analysis.
  3. Monitors progress during construction and re-programming if required.
  4. Integrates information from the designers, construction, subcontractors, and suppliers to create a master schedule.
  5. Coordinates between areas and departments, in order to elaborate a realistic schedule.
  6. Preparation of detailed construction programs in Primavera P6. 
  7. Preparation of the narrative. 
  8. Presentation/dissemination of planning/programming philosophy
  9. Production of Cost Forecast and operation Earned Value Management process.
  10. Monitors continuously all project problems, take advantage of conversion opportunities if any and recommend solutions for scrapping and potential.
  11. Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  12. Monitor construction claims and change orders related to scheduling impacts.
  13. Preparation of Extension of Time (EOT).
  14. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  2. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.

  4. Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS 

At a minimum, the Construction Scheduler must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study, along with 6+ years of proven experience in project scheduling and maintaining/updating Primavera (P6) schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects and  OR high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10+ years of proven experience in project scheduling and maintaining/updating Primavera (P6) schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field, plus 6 or more years of experience in project scheduling and maintaining or updating Primavera P6 schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 10 or more years of experience in project scheduling and maintaining or updating Primavera P6 schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Experience with performance measurement systems in heavy civil construction projects
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

What We Do

Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the 5.5 miles of reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. LBB will implement a ‘free flow’ toll and remove the existing bridge. The new infrastructure will be built with environmentally friendly construction techniques to minimize the impact on the Lake Charles area. The bridge, which is part of the I-10 interstate highway and is the largest project in the history of the LADOTD, will replace the 70-year-old existing crossing, dramatically increase capacity, reduce congestion, improve travel times, and increase safety for Louisiana, the wider national interstate highway network, and the 70,000+ cars and trucks that use it daily. The final design, intended to preserve and recognize the heritage of the historic bridge, will be determined in cooperation with the LADOTD and the local community.
