Job Summary

The Scenic / Decor Manager will lead the scenic and decor team for live event productions. This role requires a master organizer and communicator who can work effectively with clients, Event Producers, and Technical Directors. The manager will ensure that inventory is organized in the inventory system, maintain the scenic/decor catalog, and oversee the preparation and staging of scenic/decor items for events. The manager will also ensure that all items are in good condition and manage repairs or disposals as necessary. On-site presence is required to ensure proper setup according to plans. The role involves extensive travel, late nights, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the scenic and decor team, ensuring effective communication and coordination with clients, Event Producers, and Technical Directors.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the inventory system, and keeping the scenic/decor catalog updated with pricing and quantities.
  • Ensure all scenic/decor items are pulled, staged, and ready for transport to live events.
  • Inspect and maintain scenic/decor items, managing repairs or disposals as necessary.
  • Be present on event sites to oversee the setup of scenic and decor pieces according to plans.
  • Ensure the scenic/decor warehouse is organized and kept clean.
  • Operate a forklift and scissor lift as needed.
  • Manage the logistics of scenic/decor items, including transportation and setup.
  • Work late nights and weekends as required, with extensive travel to event sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Theater Production, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scenic/decor management for live events.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems (experience with Flex preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Certification to operate a forklift and scissor lift (preferred).
