Valiant is looking for a Scenario Development Sustainment Planner to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Works under the supervision of the Scenario Development Branch (SDB) Chief with oversight from the Operations Coordinator.
- Coordinates closely with the Lead Plans and Exercise Maneuver Control (P/EMC) Operations and Sustainment Planners (Z01/Z04).
- Responsible for supporting up to 10 US Army Brigade Combat Team (BCT) rotational training exercises annually. These rotational training exercises are approximately 14 to 21 days in length.
- Primary Performance Work Statement (PWS) duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: plans, coordinates, integrates, synchronizes, and prepares grammatically and doctrinally correct tactical and exercise control sustainment deliverables
- Assist P/EMC (Z04/Z01) in producing sustainment related PowerPoint slides for various planning and coordination meetings.
- Oversees the development of (digital and hard copy) operations and sustainment graphics.
- Assist in development of scripts, slideshows, and storyboards to support daily Division level and Adjacent Unit battle rhythm events (e.g. Commander’s Update (CUB), Sustainment Working Group, and Division OPORD Brief).
- Develops and synchronizes deliverables with scenario planning teams as required during scenario development and rotation execution.
- Assists in replication of JRTC’s Rotational Higher Command (HICOM) in the Sustainment Warfighting Function on as needed basis..
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s Degree
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a US Army Officer/Warrant Officer Logistics or Sustainment Advance Course.
- Direct experience supporting tactical level combined arms training at the US Army BCT or higher level.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Will be required to submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.
- Individual must be adaptive, flexible, imaginative, and able to work effectively in an often time constrained and dynamically changing environment.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure scenario consistency throughout large volumes of diverse written material.
- Must be able to effectively and independently research, develop, organize, and communicate sustainment concepts for diverse military operations.
- Possess at a minimum, a general working knowledge of current US Army operations and sustainment doctrine; primarily the 1, 3, 4, and 6 series.
- Possess a working proficiency with Army Mission Command Systems (e.g. CPCE and MAVEN).
- Must have an in-depth understanding of plans and orders formats and be able to write effective orders that address all required information, instructions, tasks in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work non-standard schedules that include extended hours and/or weekends based on mission requirements.
- Must be able to travel unaccompanied to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent sustainment experience as a deployed US Army Sustainment Officer, Warrant Officer, or MOS qualified Senior NCO working on a US Army BCT or higher level staff within the past 5 years.
- Direct experience working on a Division Sustainment Brigade (DSB) staff.
- Direct experience working on a Division Sustainment Support Battalion (DSSB) or Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) staff.
- Completion of Support Operations Officer (SPO) Course.
- Completion of the US Army Battle Staff NCO Course.
- Previous CTC experience in exercise design or as an Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
