SAP Basis Specialist - Full Remote - Contract & Freelance
Full Remote with occasional travel to Zurich (Kick off, occasional on-site meetings).
On behalf of one of our clients, a major player in its sector, we are looking for an SAP Basis Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical owner of SAP systems, ensuring compliance with SLAs regarding availability, performance, and backup/restore
- Maintain multi-landscape environments through system refreshes, SAP/Database upgrades, and support package campaigns
- Be part of the SAP technical team, including release management and Focused Build technical support
- Research and propose Basis solutions (performance monitoring, tuning, system configuration)
- Serve as the point of contact for all Basis-related matters and coordinate with other IT Tech Leads
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis technical administration (on-premise and cloud environments)
- Expertise in SAP system administration: configuration, installation, upgrades, certificate management, patching
- Solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (architecture, technical requirements, best practices)
- Familiarity with change management frameworks (CHARM, Focused Build)
- Strong understanding of SAP security principles (roles, profiles, authorizations)
- Experience in performance monitoring/tuning, ideally via Cloud ALM (Solution Manager a plus)
- Knowledge of SAP backup and disaster recovery methods
- Fluent English; German is a plus
Skills Required
- At least 10 years of hands-on SAP Basis technical administration experience
