Role Overview
The SAP ABAP Technical Consultant will support established SAP environments across ECC and S 4 HANA, with a focus on enhancement, optimization, and stabilization of core manufacturing and order management processes. This role is hands on and execution focused, supporting live production systems rather than greenfield implementations. The consultant will work closely with functional, data, security, and project teams to deliver reliable and maintainable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP solutions supporting Production Planning and Sales and Distribution processes
Support and improve existing custom ABAP code with a focus on performance, stability, and maintainability
Develop and maintain RICEF objects including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, CDS views, and APIs
Build and support OData services and backend logic for SAP Fiori and UI5 applications
Partner with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Support integrations across SAP modules and third party systems
Troubleshoot production issues through debugging and root cause analysis
Apply secure coding practices and authorization checks aligned with enterprise standards
Document technical designs and contribute to knowledge transfer across teams
Required Qualifications
5 to 10 years of hands on SAP ABAP development experience
Experience supporting SAP ECC and S 4 HANA environments
Hands on experience supporting PP and SD related developments
Strong understanding of manufacturing and order to cash processes
Experience with OO ABAP, enhancements, BADIs, user exits, and performance tuning
Ability to work independently in complex multi system environments
Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, or modern ABAP development patterns
Exposure to SAP Fiori, UI5, and API based architectures
Experience supporting ERP optimization or stabilization initiatives
Manufacturing, automotive, or industrial industry experience
Exposure to SAP BTP or hybrid cloud environments
