Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful a Salesforce Software Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • To design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce components using Apex, LWC, and Visualforce.
  • Design and implement third-party integrations and Salesforce APIs. Alignment with integration pattern , access control mechanism.
  • Enforce and monitor Salesforce security controls (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, etc.).
  • Resolve problem records, incidents, and defect items raised by business and security teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Review and guide technical implementation strategies for the team.
  • Lead and mentor Salesforce developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Constructively challenge other project teams sharing the Salesforce instance to maintain architectural integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development and release processes.
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab and GitLab Duo for version control and CI/CD.
  • Resolve merge conflicts, manage pull/merge requests, and enforce branching strategies.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment pipelines and automation.
  • Monitor and optimize Salesforce release cycles using DevOps tools.
  • Work with other projects on the shared Salesforce instance and challenge design decisions when necessary to uphold platform standards.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
