We offer boundless opportunities in a rapidly growing global business: mentorship from the best and brightest in CRE, access to our Altus Intelligence Academy, and the chance to work with the best data sets, tools and technology in the industry.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, we are hiring a Salesforce Platform Developer to design, develop, and improve scalable solutions across Altus Group’s Salesforce platform. You will translate business and technical requirements into secure, maintainable solutions, working closely with Salesforce architecture, product, delivery, and business teams. Your work will span hands-on development, platform integrations, automation, release quality, and ongoing improvements to platform performance and stability. You will also contribute to development standards, technical reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team.

This is a remote role, with a preference for someone based in Toronto. Occasional office visits may be required.

What’s in it for you

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of Salesforce development activities, contributing to solutions that support business needs across the organization. From building and improving platform capabilities to strengthening integrations, release practices, and platform performance, your work will have a direct role in how Altus Group uses and evolves its Salesforce environment.

You’ll also work closely with Salesforce architects, product and delivery teams, business analysts, and other developers. This collaboration will give you the opportunity to contribute your technical perspective, share knowledge, and help shape solutions that are secure, scalable, and built to last.

As our new Salesforce Platform Developer, you will
  • Build and improve Salesforce solutions. You will design, develop, test, and maintain solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and other Salesforce technologies. You will translate business and technical requirements into solutions that are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Contribute to technical standards and quality. You will follow established development practices and contribute to reusable solution patterns, code reviews, and technical design reviews. You will help identify opportunities to improve solution quality, consistency, performance, and long-term maintainability.
  • Strengthen integrations and platform performance. You will develop and support integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise applications using APIs and appropriate integration technologies. You will also troubleshoot platform issues, address technical debt, and contribute to the stability, security, and performance of the environment.
  • Support releases and production changes. You will contribute to source control, CI/CD pipelines, testing, release management, and production deployments. You will follow established change management and SOX control requirements, ensuring changes have the appropriate approvals, peer reviews, test evidence, and audit traceability.
  • Work across teams to deliver solutions. You will partner with Salesforce architects, product and delivery teams, business analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to solution design. You will communicate technical considerations, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs clearly, while sharing knowledge with other developers.
  • Contribute to emerging platform capabilities. You will support the design, development, and maintenance of AI-enabled Salesforce capabilities, such as Agentforce and Einstein, in line with security, data, and governance requirements.

You bring
  • The Salesforce development experience. You have hands-on experience developing solutions across the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, and SOQL. You understand how to build solutions that meet business needs while remaining secure, scalable, and maintainable.
  • The integration and platform knowledge. You bring experience developing and supporting integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems using APIs and integration patterns. You understand platform performance, governor limits, security considerations, and how to identify opportunities to improve existing solutions.
  • The software development practices. You are familiar with source control, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and structured software development practices. You can participate in code and technical design reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to consistent development standards.
  • The problem-solving approach. You can assess technical requirements and recommend an appropriate solution, balancing declarative Salesforce configuration with custom development. You are comfortable investigating issues, identifying root causes, and considering the longer-term impact of technical decisions.
  • The communication and collaboration skills. You can explain technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You work effectively with architects, developers, business analysts, and business teams to move solutions from requirements through delivery.

It would be an asset if you also have:

  • Experience working within SOX-regulated environments or controlled change management processes.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce AI capabilities such as Agentforce and Einstein.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (PD1) and/or Platform Developer II (PD2) certification.

What you can expect from our interview process:
  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor to discuss your interest in joining Altus Group and in the role. The conversation will be recorded using BrightHire, an AI-powered video interview tool. More details will be shared when you are invited to interview.
