The Role

Sales, Senior Account Manager

Can you provide senior level sales support for existing customers in the paint and coatings market, while developing new accounts by improving our relationships with key decision makers? Do you have working knowledge about coating application or chemical products with the ability to work with customers to improve coating properties and performance? Come work with R&D to understand the product chemistry and maximize sales and profits at Hempel!

  • Develop relationships with existing accounts and prospect new accounts and begin to develop relationships with key decision makers. 
  • Understand what products should be recommended for specific applications and maximize sales and profits 
  • Understand and become familiar with the Hempel organization and be able to navigate orders and other key processes through our system. 
  • Attend trade shows to generate leads and create brand image. 
  • Prepare price quotes
  • Uutilize CRM to manage account activity and prepare monthly reports on sales activities.
  • Works closely with Sales and Marketing.
  • Works closely with R&D. Develop a working understanding of Hempel products  
  • Works closely with Customer Service. Understand the order system, how to place and track an order. 
  • Manage expenses and customer entertainment and report on expenses monthly.

   

What are we looking for?   

  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • 5+ years minimum with paint or coatings application, raw material for coating application or chemical products.
  • ABRACO or NACE desired (Oil & Gas) 
  • Problem-solving mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and tenacity, combined with a hands-on approach and a hunter mentality to drive results!
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently  
  • Effective communication skills(verbal/written) with individuals at all levels within organization.  English a plus!
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, Excel and Power Point. 
  • Coaching/mentoring abilities 
  • Overnight travel (30-50%).

Focuses on medium to long-term planning and face-to-face selling of products/solutions for a defined group of existing clients including: 

  • Developing medium to long-range sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with a defined group of existing customers 
  • Identifying and managing interactions with assigned group of existing customers to identify cross/up and repeat sales opportunities  
  • Resolving problems and ensuring customers receive high quality customer service 
  • Developing client retention and growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts 
  • Reviewing and reporting on customer retention, business opportunity and market trends Incumbents in this specialization may be selling directly to the ultimate purchaser or indirectly through channel partners.
