Our mission at Too Good To Go is to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. It’s a big mission, and that’s where you come in!

At Too Good To Go, you’ll join a team that cares about developing strategic partnerships, making value-based decisions, and finding innovative solutions to the world’s food waste crisis. You’ll become part of  an elite team to elevate our growth in North America and collaborate daily with world-class minds, while doing work that’s both high-impact and deeply meaningful.

The Role

As the Sales Tax Analyst, you will collaborate closely with both Group Tax and Operations to contribute to tax matters specific to Too Good To Go’s operations in North America, primarily sales tax but also matters relating tax reporting, and State/Federal tax matters. You will be responsible for your own portfolio of tax projects and provide first line support to US and Canadian account teams and external stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the North America Finance Business Partner and with a strong dotted line to the Global Head of Tax, this position offers a high degree of autonomy and the chance to make an impact on our North American operations. You will be part of a collaborative Global Finance team of approximately 40 colleagues, predominantly based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Core Responsibilities

As our Sales Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving tax matters pertaining to Too Good To Go's operations in the United States and Canada. Sales tax matters are the primary focus of this role, but the portfolio also consists of routine tax related to corporate income tax, tax reporting, tax accounting and State tax matters. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as primary internal advisor on US and Canadian sales tax matters, providing direct guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with our internal tech engineers based in Denmark to maintain and continuously develop robust procedures for the accurate calculation and remittance of sales tax across the Too Good To Go Marketplace in the US and Canada
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate filing of sales tax, State, and Federal tax returns in conjunction with external tax advisors
  • Provide support to US and Canadian account teams and engage in direct dialogue with Key Accounts on sales tax matters
  • Monitor and provide first-line partner support in relation to Form 1099-K (US), Part XX information returns (Canada), and other relevant tax forms
  • Monitoring and communicating legislative developments in the North American tax space with relevance to TGTG
  • Act as main contact for US and Canadian federal and local tax authorities
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the development of Finance, Tax and the business

Requirements

We are seeking a motivated and operationally-driven professional with experience in Tax or Operational Finance. This role demands a hands-on individual contributor who thrives on optimizing processes and proactively addressing challenges. We value a candidate who brings operational sales tax experience but also an attitude for growth and impactful execution.

You have prior experience with US sales tax matters and an operational approach to problem solving. You also possess an inherent appetite for continuous learning and professional development, embracing new challenges and evolving tax landscapes with enthusiasm. We value curiosity and the appetite to impact your role description.

You have proven experience working effectively in an international setting, adept at managing relationships and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across diverse countries and functions.

The ideal candidate has the following skillset:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law or other relevant subject
  • While not mandatory, a CPA background is considered a significant advantage, reflecting a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
  • Operational experience with US sales tax matters
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset – you will be building processes and structure
  • A can-do attitude to problem solving

What it takes to succeed

We are looking for people who are energized by the opportunity and driven by the discipline it takes to achieve it. Too Good To Go is building a high performing team where the right people thrive by holding themselves and each other to these standards. If you are looking for a place to grow, own your work, and make an impact—you’ll fit right in.

To succeed here, you’ll need to embody these four principles:

  • Choose Excellence over Ease: You take initiative and prioritize long-term impact over short-term comfort, consistently pushing for exceptional quality rather than settling for "good enough."
  • Demonstrate Integrity and Responsibility: You do the right thing when no one is watching. You recognize your own agency to influence outcomes and take responsibility —meeting setbacks with solutions and humility rather than excuses.
  • Seek Honesty: You ask questions and prioritize truth over comfort, welcoming candid feedback, and addressing performance directly to ensure we never stop improving.
  • Bring Energy and Joy to the Journey: You take responsibility for the energy you bring to the team, finding meaning in the work while celebrating our shared wins and lessons.
